Industrial Farmhouse Ceiling Fan – The flush-style ceiling fan is mounted snugly alongside a flat horizontal fairly low ceiling where it’s taken care of, and where it delivers a comforting room breeze. It comes in several diameters, from about 28 to 60-inches, depending on the size of room being fitted, which enable it to cost typically from $30 to $300. It generally has three fan motor speeds, that are reversible. Except for the equipment and possible other areas required for installing them, their self-assemble kits feature everything else. In many cases, the fan, that can have a unique lighting, will replace a ceiling fitting.

Safety, The electricity must be off to begin the location where the fan is to be installed. If the fan is replacing a fitting, turn off its fuse or circuit breaker in addition to flipping its wall switch to the off position. Stand on a sturdy wide-berth step stool or ladder throughout the installation; usually do not lean or end up in a twisted position while there. Also, wear protective eyeglasses or goggles. Furthermore, if additional auxiliary household wiring is necessary, get professional advice or help first. Tools needed, instructions (electrical) eyeglasses or goggles step-stool/ladder Phillips screwdrivers pliers electrical tape knife or sissors AC tester light wire cutter/stripper tape measure (optional) electric drill and further screws for securing the junction box, if needed

Installation steps (seeing the fan installation instructions thoroughly). 1. Remove the fitting from the ceiling. With the electricity off, slowly remove the shade, bulbs, and fixture screws from the electrical junction box within the ceiling. Let the skeleton fixture hang there. With the light tester, ensure the wire connections to this fixture are cold (test light will remain off). Cut the wires, leaving 3-5″ of tail in order to connect these phones the ceiling fan motor assembly. If the property is old, only two wires might exist, a black one as well as a white one. Tip: also check the firmness in the electrical box within the ceiling. If it’s not solidly connected to the ceiling, add two extra screws to its top side, which might require drilling two holes within the box on their behalf. The ceiling fan is heavier compared to the fitting. It also wobbles slightly during operation. 2. Install the mounting bracket. After stripping the ends in the tailing wires within the junction box cleanly, install the mounting bracket for the box with the two 5/32″ screw-bolts provided. Let the tailing wires hang outside in the bracket. 3. Hang the motor assembly from the bracket. Insert the topside motor-hanger in the centralized holder in the bracket. Insert the plastic lock clip that holds it into place. Note: the hanging motor assembly is supposed to swivel slightly. 4. Connect the wiring. Generally, the motor assembly has two so-called hot wires, a black one for that motor as well as a blue or off-color one for that lights to be attached below it. Overlap the stripped ends of those two wires (motor and lights) together with the stripped end in the black ceiling wire within the box, and twist connect them together with the wire nut provided. Connect the white assembly wire for the white ceiling wire exactly the same.

Then, to hold these connections from loosening whilst the fan is working, tape the wide lower ends of those nuts with their wires with electrical tape. Also, attach the green fan wire (ground wire from the bracket frame) for the electrical box if your box can also be grounded having a third bare or green wire. Otherwise, if your electrical box in not grounded, ask an experienced relating to this green wire connection. Some will say to let it sit be, i.e., do nothing at all from it. Others could suggest further wiring? 5. Install the flush-mount motor shroud. Install the motor shroud for the far ends in the mounting bracket with the small screws provided. It covers/hides the edges in the motor along with the wiring and ceiling box. 6. Assemble the fan blades (four to six) and mount them. After seeking the top or bottom reversible blade color scheme preferred, attach the blades with their end brackets with the screws and washers provided. Then mount the blades for the bottom side of fan motor with the bolts, lock washers, and dampening gaskets provided. Note: these latter pieces sometimes are partially pre-installed for the motor to hold them separate from the rest in the kit hardware.

Tip: to hold the motor from becoming too off-level in this step, install the blades one at a time opposite together to begin with. 7. Install the lighting assembly. Attach the fan’s lighting assembly for the small round central housing unit just underneath the fan blades via the quick-wire-connectors and small screws provided. Install the glass shades, bulbs, and pull-chain extenders within the order instructed. Note: a housing cap is provided if your lighting assembly just isn’t wanted unconditionally. 8. Test the fan and lights. After turning the electricity back on, flip the wall switch to on. Set the pull-chain switches as desired. Often, the fan lighting is set ahead on with the wall switch, whilst the fan itself is controlled with the pull-chain switch only, initially set within the off position. Note: The ceiling fan includes a reversible motor switch that permits the draft either to go upward or downward as preferred.
